Our next stop in our Italy adventure was Sorrento. We were slowly making our way down to the Amalfi Coast. It was a journey to get to Sorrento from Florence. We took a train to Naples and then took a ferry from Naples to Sorrento. The ferry ride was fairly short and only took about 40ish minutes. From the ferry, we took a cab to our hotel. We stayed at Hotel Regina, which had an awesome rooftop deck that had views of the coast and Mt. Vesuvius. We definitely took advantage of this rooftop deck during sunset. We decided to stay in Sorrento since it was a good home base to visit Pompeii. The city has tons of restaurants with outdoor dining. It is lively with street vendors everywhere and very walkable, which was convenient. If you want to relax from all the hustle and bustle of traveling, Sorrento is definitely a good place to stay to unwind.
