Positano was stunning! Ever since Santorini, I’ve been wanting to visit another coastal European city and Positano was on my list. I know the Amalfi Coast has so many coastal villages, but after seeing pictures of Positano, I knew it was the place I wanted to end our Italy adventure at.
We hired a private driver to drive us from Sorrento to Positano. It was such a good idea and stress free. The drive was about 30-45 minutes. We splurged a bit on our hotel. I figured if we were going to stay at such a beautiful village, why not stay at a hotel that would offer incredible views! We chose a Deluxe Junior Suite at Hotel Poseidon. The balcony views were stunning day and night and was worth the room price. I also loved waking up to the free breakfast with awesome views of the sea. Their pool is also fantastic! Obviously, I really enjoyed our hotel.
One thing that is very true about Positano are the stairs. There are a ton and you are bound to take them as you explore the village. I definitely had a good leg workout during our stay there. For our last night there, we had dinner at La Sponda in the Le Sirenuse hotel. The atmosphere was great, but I wished we had booked a lunch instead, so that we could appreciate all the decor. The ambiance at night was very dark to where we needed flashlights to read the menu. My recommendation is that you book before it gets dark for a better ambiance/scenery.
I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Positano. It was so relaxing and the village is just beautiful! I highly recommend you go if you are ever in the Amalfi Coast.
