The Leaning Tower of Pisa

During our stay in Florence, my husband and I took a day trip to Pisa. Our tour group met at the Santa Maria Novella train station bright and early. Thankfully, the train station was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel, so we had a bit more time to sleep. After everyone arrived, we hopped on a train that took us to Pisa. Once there, we took a city bus to get to the main Pisa square.

I had no idea that the leaning tower was in a square surrounded by other beautiful structures. It was a treat to be able to explore more than just the leaning tower. We didn’t go up the leaning tower due to time, but we were able to admire it from afar and up close. While at the square, we visited the cathedral, the baptistery, as well as the graveyard. Everything was so beautiful and it was a relaxing trip overall. We also got there before all of the tour buses, so the crowd wasn’t too bad. It started getting busier as we were leaving, which worked out. The Pisa square is definitely a place to see and I highly recommend visiting the other structures while there.
